If you’ve got a recalcitrant bearing race in a wheel bearing or something (this one is a trailing arm bearing on the BX) or one that only has the tiniest lip to hammer on, weld a circle of sheet onto the race itself to provide something to hammer against.
Also heats it up which breaks any rust too :)

So the BX will be roadworthy again soon?

It shall! To be honest, it should have been a while ago but I got most of the way through fixing it and got side-tracked by motorbike and Spitfire ;)
Now the weather’s getting a bit cold again it’d be nice to have a free garage space for short jobs like oil changes and whatnot so it’s been bumped up the priority list ;)
Need to change the trailing arm bearings and just discovered that the rear wheel bearings are sounding pretty unhealthy so they’ll get changed too. Then I think it should be good to go!
